THE WORST, dead at 3 months. mmm I was wrong.

3 months. That's how long this transition took. If you keep your jeep for that long then I am sure you will be happy. For the rest of us, this is SHIT! abominable! IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have to apologize. The change was no problem. If you are here to buy a derailleur for your jeep because one or more positions are no longer working, you need to google jeep tj blower problem right away. You will find many forums discussing the switch failing first and then when you replace it other things die or you smell burning plastic, hot metal or fire. In short, you need to replace the resistor and even the fan motor. I ended up replacing all three plus the control box because I ended up frying the connector on the vent selector vacuum switch. This is because the entire system is aging, working harder and using more energy than it needs. Enough to melt wires and plastic connectors. And your first sign of this is that you are losing one or more speeds on the fan control switch. Also, if you swap out the resistor and fan motor, you'll find a small forest floor of twigs, leaves, pine needles, and dirt that was sucked in by the fan and accumulated around the resistor and next to the air conditioner. Stick your hand in the hole and be surprised how much crap you pull out. I hope I helped you NOT to make the same mistake I made by buying a new switch and then complaining when it seemed to die after 3 months.

Pros
  • LONG LIFE
Cons
  • Can be damaged
