Bought to keep the grackle seeds out of season and it really is. However, to claim that it is even resistant to proteins is a stretch as I think a busy rabbit could open the lid. Basically, the quality is what you would expect for the price. The plastic tube is very thin and looks like it will break easily. The bird access ports are fused together so the tube cannot be completely removed from the cage for cleaning. Small seeds like millet almost fall out of the seed holes, but large seeds like sunflowers don't. It is poorly designed as a feeder as the seeds end up at the bottom of the tube and the birds cannot reach them through the entry holes.
