very difficult to actually use

product does not actually work well at all. Metal hooks do not hold fast, and since the ladder rungs start 3 feet below the window opening it is very difficult to crawl out the window and actually use the ladder. Impossible for kids under 10 to use without significant risk of slipping and falling off ladder. Would return if return window had not closed.
