Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ ThermoPro TP08S: Ultimate Wireless Digital Meat Thermometer for Grilling, Smoking, BBQ, and Oven - Dual Probe Kitchen Cooking Food Thermometer by Jennifer Johnson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great price, so-so design/finish

Very few changes can be made to this product to increase it to a 4 or 5 star rating. From the looks of it, it's a solid 3 stars. To be honest, price is the main redeeming factor here. I'll talk about the specific pros and cons. ADVANTAGES: *Price: It's at least $15-$20 cheaper than comparable dual-sensor cordless thermometers. *Easy pairing, good range. * Grill clip included for BBQ temp sensor * Countdown timer feature, nice addition * Sensors proved accurate compared to my other two thermometers CONS: * Button configuration doesn't make sense, critical buttons are mentioned in the manual but not on the Device labeled. Example: Press the F/C button to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Okay, but is it also an alarm button? Obviously you can label buttons in two rows with a separator bar (like the Start/Stop button), so why not add an F/C // Alert to the button? Is the mode/light button also an enter or confirm button to enter the target temperature? Why a light button at all? Do it Mode / Confirm or Enter * No UP/DOWN arrows; If you exceed the food temp or grill temp ceiling, you'll have to cycle through 575 degrees and back to 0, then count again. Although it toggles at 10 degrees per second on a long press, that's still a major design failure. When you reach your target temperature, you'd better blink "mode/light" to confirm your desired temperature. Otherwise it will simply reset to the last confirmed temperature and you will have to cycle all over again. Serious. Who came up with this programming? When I long-press the button to set the temperature, after that brief period of inactivity, it should just take the current temperature. Tempo. There should be no backlight button at all, just make sure the backlight comes on momentarily when any button is pressed. The light should do something useful, e.g. B. flash when the set temperature is reached, or light up for 5-10 seconds when the food temperature is 10 degrees closer to the set temperature. The unit does not indicate which connector port is for sensor 1 and sensor 2 (looking your way, sensor 1 is on the right, 2 is on the left, FYI). * The rubber bumper is quite loose, like a cheap phone case (grey part in the picture), but without the bumper the device would look very cheap, so I'm happy about that. * There must be a magnet on each clamp for transmitter and receiver. I know I get it now, but the devil is in the details of these products. Overall I will keep the product because it worked and I don't want to spend $75-80 on a similar product. I just hope Therm Pro reads these reviews to make changes to the product **TP-08 model tested**.
