I'm new to the auto shop but have pressed in a couple of ball joints - never a Moog. I'm working on a 2005 Honda CRV AWD as a YouTube project and wanted to test the Moog ball joint in one of my steering knuckles to make sure they are as reliable as the Chinese ball joint I put in my other steering knuckle. . There was only one problem: I DID NOT UNDERSTAND YOU NEED TO ALIGN THE MUG JOINT! There were no instructions in my packaging. The only possibility I found was that the ball joint was pushed in too easily so I started searching the internet for answers and then I skimmed this site and found that deep down in the reviews someone was posting this as a problem had addressed . . YOU CAN STILL READ THE INTERNAL MARKING (hint: it's on the rubber boot section), AND ALSO IF YOU HAVE TO DIG WHAT IT MEANS (this side faces in, toward the engine, otherwise the ball joint will break). gave this one 2 stars because there should be clearer instructions/warnings on either the box or the ball joint. I was supposed to get a refund because I crushed the Moog and don't want to risk reusing it (for safety reasons and because I really want my test to be valid) and now I'm worried that I unnecessarily widened the ball through the pivot hole my joint is slightly larger. I'm so scared. However, I bought another Moog and will install it correctly this time. Thanks for making me spend money Moog!
