Review on K2 Moto 2012 3 Piece Large by Patrick Nepal

Surprisingly small for an XL man, some stitching on the wrist guard is unraveling

I really liked these pads from K2. They are worse than my 20 year old pads that I have used. I'm skinny for a guy and they were very tight. I can't imagine a guy with bulk wearing that. The wrist guards were particularly tight. I had to push my hand in and wiggle it to put it on and the plastic protector was shorter than I expected. I even called K2 and read the model number and they said they are correctly listed as "male" XL pads. My guess is that the sample of men used for the test was not the average American male. I'm quite tall at 6ft 2in but unfortunately even at my age I have a slim build! If you are skinny this might work but otherwise stay away as you will be returning them. In addition, some of the seams on the left wrist were torn. Overall I liked the look of the product but they are best suited for use by teenagers or maybe younger. The foot pads also look small but they slide with some effort, same goes for the elbow pads, snug but they fit. Again, my arms and legs aren't what I consider full-fledged compared to the average Joe. I'm glad I went for XL as I can stretch and break the fabric, but I caution everyone to try them on in store before ordering online. Even XL probably won't fit you unless you're a preteen or teenager. I still think K2 has great skates and their customer service department was quick to answer the phone so they could get points for it misleading size not a high score. I'm glad I read the many reviews that the large size wasn't big enough as I almost ordered it. I will most likely give them to my daughter when she starts roller skating.
