I had an issue with the thinner seal, it let particles float in the water and tiny bits of plastic I found while cleaning and the particles stuck to mine Fishing. I called the company and they said it could be my Fluval FX4 turning on and off and worried about what is sticking to the hoses. Which made sense because I use it on my eheim 350 and haven't had any issues. They recommend me to buy this pad to see if it clears. I've tried it but it hasn't made my fish or water any better. Unfortunately, I ended up losing all 28 of my fancy goldfish. Now I take everything apart, clean it and restart the tank. It's cheaper to buy in bulk, but price wouldn't matter if I knew some pads wouldn't fit the Fluval fx4. 😥😥😥
