Review on πŸ“ 14-inch Length Starrett K53-14-N Carpenter's Try Square in Stainless Steel by Ben Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mine is as square as possible.

That's how the carpenter's square is described and, as the saying goes, my square for almost everything I need a larger square for. Can I continue to use my Starrett combo angle? Of course! My combination square is a set of squares for a grade A locksmith and like all locksmith tools, it is used as a woodworking tool. There is an increased level of skill when the machinist's tools are appropriate to the circumstances. But this carpenter square is accurate. Every time you take a known board with parallel edges and use a square on both sides of the board, draw a thin line and the lines match up perfectly, what could be the problem? The same as flipping a square on the same side of the board and checking the square. No matter how you cut it. My checks are dead in the square. It's too big for some needs, but that's why buy it when you need something other than a small square.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Exorbitant piggy bank
