On the carcass of the D7000, I used it as a reportage lens. If certain details are taken into mind while dealing with it, it performs extremely well in its assigned role. 1. If you want your photo to be crisp, you should not open the aperture more than 3.5 stops. It is preferable to cover up to 5.6. However, if you need to arrange multiple persons in the frame, more than 5.6, you should not utilize it for reporting purposes because it has a lower framing ratio. 2. The stabilizer devours everything in its path. With it, the battery will discharge at a rate that is two times faster than before. It's interesting to note that the stabilizer switch on this lens is nearly never engaged on my end. In point of fact, if you have a focal length of 50 millimeters and are not suffering from hangover symptoms, you can shoot without blurring at shutter rates as fast as 1/50 second. Because I am responsible for photographing reports for them, I never use shutter speeds that are longer than 1/100 (people are always moving). It has come to my attention that I do not require the use of a stabilizer with this lens at all. 3. The lens is able to capture hares. It is required that you wear a hood. On the other hand, you can achieve a very "artistic" effect with the lighting by deftly positioning a light source within the frame.
