Review on ๐Ÿšด 2-Pack Continental Grand Prix 5000 Bike Tires by Matt Simpsons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not failsafe if you live in a dirty place.

It was an upgrade from regular Gatorskins (not hard shell) that seemed tough to me. I did my research and read the reviews after the stone passed the GS center about 500 miles away. I'm used to NEVER getting a puncture with Specialized Armadillo tires, but I wanted to try something with better grip. These are good tires but don't trust the reviews. During my second trip with them I got an apartment. A small needle, about 2 cm long, went right through the middle. Now I have to ride my expensive tires with my boots and hope they don't fall apart because of the tiny hole they blasted. FWIW, they appear to be decent tires that have reasonable stiffness due to the high TPI. I recommend them but be aware that they are not bulletproof.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
