As I am in an arm/hand cast I bought these to reposition the burning wood in my fireplace as opposed to tongs or other gripping devices which require the use of both hands and even this is always a cumbersome process. Works perfect! Of course, you still have to be careful not to overdo it, as the heat will eventually penetrate the skin, but so far I've been able to move burning wood with no problems, though I've tried not to hold onto the red embers directly. . Flames don't seem to be a problem. I also like the orange color. The eyes will focus directly on them when needed. Of course they get dirty after a while, but most of the ash is shaken off, and what else can you expect? Many Thanks.
