Our previous controller has failed (the less said the better!) and if you are reading this you will probably realize that the OEM part is no longer available. Depending on how your OEM controller is installed, this may or may not be DIY. In my case, it just required too many adjustments and I hired a swamp cooler specialist to install it. It took him about two hours and the system works great. The thermostat is simple and very easy to use. Not as easy as the knobs and dials on the old device, but much more accurate. Installing the thermostat itself was a little tricky as its orientation is vertical while the unit it replaces was horizontal and, as detailed in the installation guide, requires a port hole at a lower position in the mounting area than its predecessor. All's well that ends well.
