How can I return this please?

I have to return this. The wires were flimsy (because this is a more modern thermostat) and the thermostat isn't compatible with the wiring in my old house. ☹️

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Swamp Cooler Thermostat

If you don't have one of these that controls your radiator precisely, you're missing out! It sets the exact temperature and keeps it there, rarely with the Hi setting on the fan! This saves money and is very convenient.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Mostly Good, But...

Works great

This is a replacement for what I bought a few years ago. I had a low engine RPM and it fried the circuit board on the old one so I had to replace it with a new one, they work great this time instead of the braided jumper wire I used for the solid wire to see if these die generated heat would be reduced

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

We bought these to fit our new evaporative coolers. We wanted something similar to the Master Cool thermostats we had previously. They are comparable and very easy to use. The only thing Master Cool does better is that they automatically pre-wet the pads when they are first put on after drying. This involves turning on the pump button for a few minutes to wet the pads and then switching to the automatic setting.

  • Best in Niche

Correct replacement

At first the controller scared me, but with patience and diligence I am very happy with the result. I installed it on the outside of my radiator and fed power through the flexible wire. If you have two pumps, use a 3/4 inch nut between the block and the radiator. The feed to the thermostat is 3/8 inch. Do not supply low voltage with high voltage. With this block you can check the operation of each element: Fan-Hi; Fang Lo; circulation pump and flushing pump. I found my drain pump wasn't working

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works well - a good replacement for the original unit.

Our previous controller has failed (the less said the better!) and if you are reading this you will probably realize that the OEM part is no longer available. Depending on how your OEM controller is installed, this may or may not be DIY. In my case, it just required too many adjustments and I hired a swamp cooler specialist to install it. It took him about two hours and the system works great. The thermostat is simple and very easy to use. Not as easy as the knobs and dials on the old device…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
