Review on Express Controller Adapter Converter Bracket by Jeff Leu

This product did exactly what I needed. For me, I needed more SATA ports to use the secondary hard drive. My computer has 4 native SATA ports on the motherboard, but it had 5 HDD slots, so I needed this SATA controller to add another additional SATA port to the motherboard via PCIe. Works like a dream. A screwdriver and screws were included in the box so you can replace the back plate for the card if you need the flat plate that comes with the box, driver disk and 2 SATA data cables. I didn't need a low profile back and didn't even need a driver CD because it worked when I booted back up. I literally shut down my computer, unplugged it, opened the computer case, put the card in the PCIe slot (any will), plugged in the included SATA data cable and routed it through my 5th hard drive, closed the backup. , plugged in my computer and started it. The card recognized my HD immediately and I was able to get started. I only have 1 observation. This card doesn't have a heatsink so it runs around 50°C +/- (122°+/-) which is fine but too hot for my liking. If you buy this card, just make sure it's not going to be used in a computer that's in a closet or on the floor under a desk where airflow might be restricted.
