Slightly strong. smells almost like human toothpaste. like a light mint. It works out. I have to use it sparingly because my poodle almost got sick one day I think from the baking soda, but if you use very little it won't have that effect, or maybe if your dog is bigger than mine she can handle a bit more. The tube says it's non-toxic, safe for dogs, cats and ferrets, and says to apply a small amount to your finger and massage your teeth and gums. Love it and might order again but I'm a little wary, it cleans teeth well and helps with tartar build up and it may be non-toxic maybe just off-putting to some dogs sensitive senses. It may take some time to get used to, but when I saw he was about to throw up I reduced the amount. Some dogs may prefer a softer product, I think I have a few others. What I do is put a small amount on my finger and dot a few areas. He seems to tolerate this reduced amount without any problems. For cleaning, this toothpaste is more effective than most other dog toothpastes I've tried. And breathing improves. This is a very pleasant mint smell, but always think of your pet first. Mine seems sensitive to baking soda, but not in tiny amounts.
