I really wanted to like this and gave it a five star rating. It is ideal for quick work in the kitchen or other small spaces. It is not intended as a main vacuum cleaner, so cordless vacuum cleaners are simply not practical for this. But the device is ideal for the desired fast operation, with the exception of one MAIN DESIGN FAILURE. The base unit (motor, filter) connects to the motorized floorhead and other accessories via a molded thin plastic connector into which a metal pin is inserted to hold the attached items. ANY minor impact on this joint will break the plastic and render the joint unusable for its intended purpose. It's a vacuum, dammit, it just has to withstand some intelligent activity. So how to fix it? Well, you (of course) use a layer of tape around the end of the base unit and that creates enough friction to keep the accessory in place. I am sure that I will have to change the tape regularly. All because the manufacturer Eureka was too cheap to install a $0.03 thin metal cover on the base unit that would have prevented the problem. Are Reviews Like These Worth the $0.03 "Saving"? Is reasonable quality production too much to ask? I do not think so. Of course I will not buy this or any other Eureka product again.
