Review on ๐Ÿ” Amprobe 3474968 RLD-1 Refrigerant Leak Detector: Expert Solution for Detecting Refrigerant Leaks by Johnny Wheat

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Feels solid, well built. Seems accurate.

My husband's family owns a heating/cooling business in Canada. They develop their own products and have a fairly extensive range of products. He managed their research and development department and is therefore very familiar with the tools. When tested, our 2 window units and air conditioner found no leaks. Since we have no issues with either, I'm inclined to assume it reads accurately. Using the supplied test kit, it performed with flying colors. His comment: The flexible probe makes it extremely useful for getting into tricky places. The size of the probe itself is pretty average, maybe a bit small. . The length is pretty average too. The meter itself is rather small and has a good detection range. Comfortable and easy to hold, which is useful in awkward positions where it sometimes needs to be used. It would be possible to add some grip strips on the sides for extra stability, but that's no big deal. He likes the light meter, but says he'd always prefer to have both a meter and meter. Most of the time on devices that have both, the meter is on the display itself, it doesn't light up separately like this one, so he likes that one better. It's difficult to gauge sensitivity without a leak test, but it's useful to have. be an option.
