Unlike my 8 year old 3.5mm cable, this cable is a godsend and here's why: I had a 25ft 3.5mm cable and it served its purpose for 8 years. Unfortunately, like everything else, it started to wear out to the point where my sound system had a buzzing 60Hz sound even without being plugged into anything. At that moment I realized that it had to be thrown away. I needed a replacement when I came across Revain, KabelDirekt had this really nice cable with a metal sleeve. I fell in love with them for the following reasons: I like the metal sleeve better than the plastic sleeve on my old 3.5mm cable. Mainly because metal is generally more durable than plastic and adds a bit of chrome to the look. The cable does not emit any buzzing or interference. It must have very good shielding inside as my old 3.5mm cable had interference issues. This? It seems very durable which I like a lot. (I wouldn't try your luck running the cable next to live power lines though. It's resilient, not bulletproof, to interference.) - Ergonomics. I've never seen so much attention paid to a 3.5mm cable, but since the tip is metal and chrome-plated, it sometimes slips in your hands. KabelDirekt has thought about this and found a solution: There is a small "squeeze zone" on the underside of the cable connector. I use it with my thumbs all the time because it would be very difficult to hold it by the chromed metal and plug it into a 3.5mm jack. However, they have taken great care to add that little quality of life detail to their product. This makes a huge difference as it provides a much better grip than trying to grab the chrome tip. Use the "pinch zone" they provided in their product) - I don't think durability would be an issue considering the tips are metal and not plastic. But only time will tell, right? (I very much doubt it will lose durability anytime soon.) The only possible negative I can say about this product (more or less a nitpick) is that the chrome finish is the cap I suppose? I had a hard time using the cable with my audio system and only heard sound from 1 speaker. I touched the end of one of the cables and found that one of the chrome ends was loose and not allowing the cable to go all the way through. It was my fault for grabbing it by the chrome and tucking it in. This was my first time using a cable and that was before I noticed the clamping range they were providing the user with. Overall I think this is a very reliable product and I would recommend it to anyone looking to replace their cables and looking for a modern design!
