It's not what I would call "essential" but it's very cool and nice to have. I want to know what the air quality, temperature and humidity are like. It's pretty easy to set up, but there are different options for C and F (so it should be fine for US and Canada), which is pretty clear on PM2.5 levels (very small particles, which have been shown to that they're not good for our health), and it has a battery that I couldn't really count on. This thing works great when I plug it into a power source, but I don't really see the point of a battery. It might be ideal for some people, but it's not something I ever really want to charge. In this case I just keep it connected to a power source. Pros: Shows PM2.5 air quality and shows it with a happy, sad, and normal face if it's just "satisfactory". Has humidity (seems accurate) Temperature is accurate Screen is large and works well Cons: Not a fan of batteries If you're looking for something that shows air quality, temperature and humidity I'd recommend checking this out. If you only need temperature and humidity, a lower version may be sufficient.
