Ideal for thickly filled carpets

We installed a new thickly filled carpet and also repainted it. When rehanging the closet sliding doors, the old white plastic door runners didn't work - they buckled too tightly in the middle, held in place by the thick carpeting. I looked around and found this alternative door guide. Although the actual product image is a line drawing, I have noticed on other sites that this model number has a metal body. Vertical door rails made of brownish-reddish soft plastic. They can be adjusted to the thickness of the doors by a half turn (like a key in a lock) so they are perpendicular to the doors instead of parallel, which also serves to narrow the door channel. Another beautiful moment. What makes it special is that the mounting screw holes are not on the other end, but offset to the side and about 1/4 in from each end (as you can see in the picture). This makes it easier to screw in and also provides a better mounting plane to fix it on carpeted floors. This means if the screws were at the extreme ends there would be a lot more leverage in the middle when mounting to carpet. The bottom line is that they work great in our setup and look well made. Highly recommended.
