I am very happy with these Finum Medium tea filters! I read other reviews and understood where they came from. When these filters collapse by themselves (when pouring water) - it is very difficult to open them - and the tea leaves start to flow out of the filter through the top. Aggravating. But my review: I love these filters because not only are they sturdy, but they are also wide at the bottom - this allows the tea leaves to fully open. Some filters are too narrow at the bottom and don't allow the tea leaves to fully open in my opinion. In addition, these filters are quite durable. I like to compress the tea filter with tea leaves between infusions and they hold up very well no matter what temperature I use (doesn't fall apart). I used other filters which broke after the 2nd brew - very frustrating (waste of money). I'm so glad I found them as they have restored my faith in tea filters! :D It's also good to know that they are "green" - no dioxins were used - just oxygen to "whiten" these whites, and the ease of tossing them in the compost/landscape heap - makes the choice easy. :D Try it Review done :D Below is an additional overview of how I use the filters: How to get the most out of these tea filters :). Then I poke the chopstick about 1/4 inch from the top and 1/4 inch from the center to the right (right handed). It may sound strange, but the "off-center" shock allows water to flow over a large area and prevents the filter from breaking. If you're left-handed, poke the chopstick to the left about 1/4 inch from center. For some reason the filter is more prone to collapsing and seeping in the tea leaves if you stick it straight into the center/middle. After inserting the wand into the filter, open the filter as it lies in your teacup. The contact between the tea leaves and the infused water contributes to a complete infusion and maximum expansion of the tea leaf (rather than just pouring water into a cup and then placing the tea bag in the water). After that, I use a tea press (tongs) and gently squeeze the tea filter/leaves to get the most out of each brew. I put the tea filter/tea leaves in another cup. The chopstick lets it hang in another cup to ensure it stays clean until the next infusion. I use a filter tea for about 2-3 infusions depending on the type of tea. Between brewing, the filter is pressed with a tea press - these finums hold up very well! As I mentioned earlier, I've had other tea filters that opened after the second press. Again, I am overall very satisfied with these Finum Medium filters! Try it! :D
