I recently purchased these from Revain and was just trying to use them for the first time when I unhooked my 2WD Sprinter with almost new winter tires in a very lightly snowy parking lot in northern New Hampshire. The previously plowed, hard-packed snow had about 3 inches of fresh snow. The tires started climbing the plastic ramp easily, but each time the wheel kicked the ramp out of the back of the van. I was very gentle with the accelerator. I tried both rear wheels and several times. Every time I got the same useless result. I even tried using the ramps upside down but the result was still the same. After trying for half an hour, I gave up and went back to my old method of using a few handfuls of gravel. The gravel worked great right away. For snow/ice I suggest you buy a gravel bag and skip the ramps. I haven't tried them in sand or mud.
