We were less than 4 days away. We saw all the great reviews where we thought the plastic was nice and flexible. So when snow or a snow plow hits with a fleeting thump, it should be better than a regular mailbox, but it's worse. Our previous mailbox took several hits before being destroyed. This one broke on the first hit in the first snow so we lost two mailboxes in two weeks. (Note that none of our neighbors' mailboxes were destroyed during these last few snowfalls, but who knows exactly how badly it was damaged by snow or a snowplow - I just know it didn't last weeks).
