Don't wear anything white.
I like the lamp, it is identical in size and shape to the normal Herodan oil lamp, but the "aging process" consisted of tossing a fresh terracotta lamp into a pile of black/grey soot. I ran this lamp first, then a couple of the next regular ones I bought, and was wondering where all the sooty fingerprints were coming from, only to find that "the soot/ash from the old Herodan lamp got into this oil and got on my hands". The lamp works 100% as it should, but remember to tan or don't wear white that day.
