Review on Reboot CUT50DL Frequency Inverter Aluminum by Jason Staggs

Great car for your money.

, I tried to upload a video showing how the machine works but for some reason it didn't appear. I have been a welder/fabricator for over 20 years and use all industrial plasma cutters. I've wanted one for years but couldn't pull the trigger on a $1500-2000 plasma cutter that I'll only use a few times a year, so I rolled the dice and bought this machine. I'm glad I did. This is a great little machine for the hobby weekend welder. The value for money is unbeatable. I know it's made in China, but it's actually a decent car. The ground (or work station for those who need to know) clip is a bit fiddly, the cord could have been bigger and maybe a few feet longer, but that's really my only complaint. The weapon is easy to use. The plasma cutter is touch started, but you don't actually have to touch the material with the tip if the tip is new and clean. Simply hold the tip 1 inch from the material to be cut, pull and hold the trigger, and then slowly move the tip towards the material. Once the tip is about an eighth of an inch from the material, the arc strikes and you can start cutting. This method will help extend the life of consumables. Remember that once the tip has gotten dirty enough, you must lightly touch the tip with the material until you have used up the tip and wish to replace it, then the process begins again. This machine cuts through 3/16 like butter and does well in 1/4. Haven't done 3/8 yet as advertised it can cut up to 3/8. It will cut 1/2 through if you move very slowly. It leaves enough dross at the bottom of the 1/2 inch cut but cuts it off when absolutely necessary. The carriage pictured used 3x3 3/16 pipe and the plasma cutter quickly cut through my pipe since I don't have a bandsaw. This machine comes with everything you need to set it up except for connecting to the air chuck for the air compressor. Click on the picture of the back of the machine and zoom in on where the air connection is and you will see that I took the next size hose nozzle (I think it's 3/8. The machine comes with 1/ ). 4 in.) I was able to push in a 3/8 barb of hose, which helped create a good airtight seal, and then screw in the male connector from female to female so I could screw in the air cartridge, which was male. Also, use plenty of the included Teflon tape to ensure you don't have any air leaks. I don't know anything about the customer service as I didn't have to contact them and the durability is yet to be seen. I hope this lasts long. Took the car from this follows. The cart it's on is a $40 dockside freight cart, and I would also suggest if you're putting this on a cart like this, tie it down somehow. I just attached mine with a ratchet strap. The machine is about the size of a lunch box and is also very light, making it very easy to tip over accidentally. I hope this review helps. *EDIT* I've added a few pics to show how it cuts. If you look closely at the cut of the material in the picture where I'm holding the torch right now, you'll see that the cut appears to be at about a 45° angle. To get a 90° right angle you need to tilt the flashlight forward as shown in the other picture.
