The NexusLink Gaming Bridge is an addition to this range that comes in an incredibly well designed package. The number one question for those interested in purchasing this device is performance. Attached to my review is a connection comparison for Xbox One X. On the left is a typical Wi-Fi setup, you can see that wireless performance is greatly reduced with a severe drop in speed and increased latency due to distance . between game console and router. On the right you can see that you get a huge speed increase and latency reduction when using a wireless bridge. What does that mean? With the default WiFi setting, downloads and streaming are much slower. You will also experience severe lag and connection instability (due to low WiFi performance) that cause problems when playing games. This is incredibly frustrating for those who often play online games. I've encountered scenarios where my game would "hang" due to latency and end up in a loss after reconnecting. When using a NexusLink bridge you have a much more reliable connection as the bridges primarily communicate with each other. Download speeds have been greatly improved to make it easier to download large updates (common in games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc.) and minimize lag spikes from a more reliable connection. In addition, the bridge can act as an access point, allowing the device to forward WiFi signals to weaker areas of your home. Another note I like about the NexusLink bridge is the low profile design. I have a competitor router that gets very hot and takes up more space. The design of the NexusLink Bridge is slim, so you can easily find a place to install or move it when needed. I also find the matte black on the inside contrasted with the glossy white on the outside very pleasing to the eye. One area of improvement I'd like to see is the ability to turn off the LED indicators. This was a feature I found useful on my previous router. I would also like to see more ethernet ports for those who want to use the wireless bridge as an ethernet hub. In a future model, Wi-Fi 6 implementation will also help with future checks for new devices. Other than that I am very happy with this device and look forward to using it as my daily driver.
