This gun works well with large terminals. It heats up well and relatively quickly. The biggest problem is the duty cycle, it is rated for 1 minute with 4 minutes rest, which is not even the standard 25% duty cycle based on a 10 minute cycle like all welders. The duty cycle of industrial welders is usually over 60%, which means they can work for 6 minutes and then rest for 4 minutes. My industrial welders have that. Even a 25% duty cycle (the industry standard for welding) would be much better: 2.5 minutes on, 7.5 minutes off. This duty cycle says it can't heat the element in 1 minute, you can't solder it. The manual says it's up and running in 6 seconds, but I find it takes between 10 and 15 seconds. If it takes 10 seconds to get ready and it can only be on for 60 seconds, that means you have 50 seconds to heat up the item and then it needs to rest for 4 minutes. This gives it a much shorter duty cycle than some of the cheapest welders you can buy (I use the Weld Standard because it's a similar product, it melts metal). This means that it can only be used for 10 minutes per hour, which can hardly be described as an industrial application. The second problem is the cheap trigger, if you overuse the gun it will melt. It's hard to use with its duty cycle, but it's the only one I've found that produces enough watts to run well. If you advertised it as a consumer product it would get 4-5 stars but as an industrial product the duty cycle sucks and I really should give it 2 stars.
