BUY THIS BOTTLE! in Sports & Outdoors Accessories

We live in the Arizona desert, and for months we can have high temperatures in the hundreds and low temperatures in the 90's. We used to buy a lot of disposable water bottles at the store - two to three cases a week. When we bought the first of our Nalgene bottles, we were looking for a way to keep the convenience of bottled water without throwing away so much plastic. We were looking for a "Made in the USA" product that would stand the test of time and that would work extremely well. Now we have about thirty bottles of different shapes, colors and sizes. We fill them with our water purifier next to the sink. The water tastes the same or even better than bottled water. These bottles do not absorb "odors" like we have experienced with other bottles. The 16 ounce bottles are our family's favorite, but we also have a few 32 ounce bottles which come in handy when more water is needed. We still have a few water supplies, mostly for folks to take along on the go if that happens. If you're wondering if they'll fit in your fridge, the 16-ounce mouth is 2 5/8 inches wide and 6 7/8 inches tall. The 32 ounce size is 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 8 3/8 inches in height. I've washed the bottles in the picture over 100 times (hopefully saved a lot of plastic in landfill) and although they cost more the bottles have held up very well. I am very pleased with our decision to choose Nalgene. Yes, you have to wash them, fill them, and keep track of them, and that's not a perfect system. However, they ran for months without a single failure and I believe they will last for several years replacing us with hundreds of water bottles thrown away for each one. Disclosure: I was in no way paid to write this review and this is my own opinion as a customer and user and I am in no way affiliated with any bottled product or Nalgene other than as a customer of Revain. You can't go wrong with this. When I was in college, my roommate and I decided to test Nalgene's structural integrity. For reasons I can't fully reconstruct, we were irritated by the structural perfection of this thing. No matter what you do with it, it won't break. We are tired of being mocked at our mistakes and mistakes by this lifeless plastic thing, so perfect in its work, so true, so devoid of anything that it even comes close to being wrong. Nothing, we thought, could be perfect. So we threw my full Nalgene out a third floor window. He landed with an incredible HIT! on the concrete, which scared the shit out of the pesky girl who happened to be nearby, jumping about five feet into the air before coming to a stop completely unharmed. People seemed shocked, but we weren't surprised at all. This thing is so strong, it's really incredible. Like Chase Utley, The Godfather, Hope Diamond, Abbey Road, Chicken Nugget, I can't think of an improvement. It just is. Perfect. If you don't like one of them, I don't know what to tell you. It's just fine. I have three Nalgene bottles and they are by far my favorite all-purpose water bottle. These bottles are the ultimate solution and even better when used with a third party silicone mouthpiece. I've tried at least a dozen water bottles to find the perfect one, and Nalgene is by far my favorite because it's the only bottle that meets or exceeds all of my criteria listed below. (1) Should be easy to clean(2) Must hold ice well(3) Easy to drink(4) Long lasting(5) Holds 20 to 40 ounces of liquid(6) Easy to track/recognize the case of previous bottles. Previous water bottles I've tried are often difficult or impossible to clean, and I particularly dislike metal bottles with nickel-sized mouthpieces. How should I clean it without a special brush? The small mouthpieces also discourage the use of ice cubes, which I particularly enjoy on long trips. Some bottles hold ice easily, like the Camelback teat bottles, but I find them difficult to drink and even more difficult to clean. Premium water storage device. I like strong bottles that don't warp or lose their ability to stand upright - think Klean Kanteen. Also, I like water bottles that hold just the right amount of water and are easy to keep track of. After using Nalgene bottles for over a year I have found that they meet all my criteria. To put my use of these bottles in perspective, I use them every day - literally. I use Nalgene at work, school, camping, the gym and on the go. I found the Nalgene very easy to clean thanks to the wide mouthpiece, which also makes filling with water very easy. and ice cream. Nalgene is also very easy to drink, although that's my only complaint. If you like drinking ice water, it's difficult to drink the last 10 fl oz of water without the ice and water splashing out. in your face. I did this many, many times before finally purchasing Nalgene Splashguard (which costs around $2-4). While I absolutely love my mouthguard when paired with a bottle of Nalgene, it works great without it too. I will also note that I have a Nalgene narrow neck water bottle and find it works great. This bottle is easier to drink but may limit the use of ice in your water bottle. As mentioned, the last three criteria are less important than the others, but I think the Nalgene Wide Mouth perfectly meets all of these requirements. These are incredibly durable bottles. Mine have performed many feats with the superpower of a water bottle, but I'll only talk about two. At the local rock climbing wall, my Nalgin was knocked off the second floor balcony. The bottle fell almost ten meters to the concrete floor below and was completely undamaged. I've heard about the durability of Nalgene bottles in the past but this really convinced me of the durability of the product. A metal water bottle would likely be dented and unusable, and a glass water bottle would likely result in a closed gym floor, although if you think about it, most gyms ban glass water bottles anyway. Just recently I was in Yosemite National Park and drove away from the falls with a bottle on the roof. My friends and I discovered my mistake when my Nalgene water bottle hit the ground in front of us at about 10 miles per hour. Although some of my decals have worn off, Nalgene survived to fight another day. My final comments relate to the size and "traceability" of the Nalgene water bottle. These bottles come in 32 and 16 fluid ounce sizes and I find the 32 ounce size meets all of my needs. While it may not fit in your regular cup holder, I see no problem installing it in my car's door panel. When I'm at work or school, I either throw it in my bag or clip it to my backpack with a carabiner. Finally, the wide variety of colors makes their bottle stand out from other people's bottles and adds a touch of color to your everyday attire. very individual. I carry these bottles everywhere and have yet to find an adventure they can't handle. I don't think there is a better bottle.
