Great pants - very comfortable and warm. Yesterday I wore them outside under my jeans for about 4 hours in 35* weather, mostly standing/sitting. While my nose got cold, my feet never did. I was expecting it to be cold or sweaty with a base coat but have never experienced either. However --- The 3 star rating comes from the fit. I have a curvaceous figure (for example, I have hips and buttocks, like many women), and it seemed to me that they were tailor-made for a man. They were very tight on my butt. I bought the large ones as I usually wear pants with a 31" waist and they cut into my waist a bit - not to the point of pain but a bit uncomfortable. During the day they felt like they were slipping down and I kept tightening the base layer and my jeans, especially after sitting/squatting. I have a feeling this is due to the cut/shape of the pants and not the actual size. If you are fairly slim and/or don't have a curvy figure they would probably fit you, but as for me I would prefer something that fits well.
