Update March 20, 2020: I love using this thermometer when cooking at home, use it several times a week. While it's not an instant read, I'd say it usually gets close to temperature within about 3 seconds. If I could change something about it, I would like it to have a backlight as I often use it outside at night when grilling. , but I tested it right out of the box in a small amount of boiling water and ice water and it showed 100.1°C and 0.8°C respectively, which is within the stated accuracy tolerances. Wanted to add some photos of the packaging for those interested. The display is easy to read as long as there's light, and it's very intuitive to use if you just want to take the temperature or toggle between F and C. It has some advanced features like HOLD/MIN/MAX and an auto-off switch, just read the instructions and it's pretty easy to understand.
