I already had a pair of Newtons and as with all of their shoes, the cleat system under the ball of the foot emphasizes proper foot placement and minimizes heel strikes, which is a constant concern for me. These shoes are very well made and very comfortable from the start. The toe part is dense in size, but the design and material are elastic enough, so they won't cause any discomfort. The length is almost true to size and overall they're comfortable to wear even on longer runs (or walks). I usually run in Brooks and ASICS shoes, and while I still love those shoes, lately I've been enjoying the Gravity 7 in my running rotation: While the cleats are very noticeable and definitely feel different, I have no problem with them, adapt to them as I have good runs with them. These shoes aren't skinny (a friend told me mine "looks like watermelons") so if you're looking for a muted or understated shoe, this probably isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a comfortable and supportive running shoe that looks unique and will keep you comfortable mile after mile, I recommend the Newton Gravity 7s.
