Note that cable length is likely limited to 1m when using USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps speeds that is provided by this docking station. charged for. In fact, I couldn't find a USB cable rated at 10Gb/s longer than 1m, let alone the full-size Type-B connector required for use with this docking station. The product comes with a 1m Type A to Type B cable. As far as I know, this cable length limitation is a USB limitation and not a limitation of this product. Consider this and the limitations of dock placement in your environment if 10Gbps connectivity is a priority for you. Also remember that the SATA bus of the hard drive installed in the docking station is only rated for 6 Gb/s. So if you downgrade to a 5Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen1 connection for a longer cable, you really don't lose much in nominal speed potential.
