Review on πŸ’¨ Enhanced Performance K2203 Front Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors Kit by Gage Lawson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wears out too quickly

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. I usually use regular stock rotors with friction linings. That gets me 75,000 for a set of front pads. Now a review of Power Stop: At the same time I redid the brake calipers and replaced all accessories. The rotors look great and the stopping power is amazing. The bad thing for me is that after 28,000 miles the pad wore out and was metal on metal. Not the miles I'm used to. It's the payoff for the extra stopping power I guess. Maybe a fleet rating pad would be better. I just don't know if I want to invest more in Power Stop. 09/25/15: I spoke to the technician at Power Stop today. He was friendly and answered my questions. It's fair to say that there is a trade-off between pad life and added braking power. And it would be better if I had them in the back too, as only the front ones had more stopping power, the rear brakes worked even less. I might try them again but next time it will be all 4 and the Z36 pad they sell for towing. Also, the bladed portion of the rotor rusts and flakes just like ordinary cheap shop rotors. My last set of regular rotors, by comparison, lasted 200,000 miles and had a 75,000 pad change interval.

Pros
  • Nice part
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
