Works as advertised

I had a PVC check valve on my shallow well pump but it wouldn't hold the suction when the pump lost pressure. In freezing conditions I would cut power and depressurize to protect the pump and then have to manually reprime the pump. This one doesn't. When I depressurize the pump, the check valve keeps the water at the top of the fountain and the pump will turn on again as soon as I plug it in, no matter how long it's been off.
