Truly biodegradable, plant-based poop bags

These bags are my favorites. They're a little pricey, but it's important to know that I'm not adding more plastic to landfills. There is much debate about biodegradable and compostable and whether dog poop (or other animal poop) should be composted. The answer is no, pet waste should not be thrown into the home compost heap, no matter what type of bag it is in. Fecal matter can end up in industrial compost or anaerobic bioreactors, but not in backyard compost. These bags degrade quickly in the right environment, making them biodegradable (but not in the sense that everything will degrade over time). Designed to reduce the use of plastic, these bags end up in landfills where poop ends up. These bags decompose quickly in a landfill, allowing the feces to further decompose other garbage. They're even wrapped in cardboard instead of plastic, which is much appreciated (although Revain comes with a plastic wrap). There are now specific products that you can use to compost pet waste from the backyard and I don't know if it can be put in those composters. In any case, I appreciate plant-based bags. They are a good size (I have a large dog), nice and thick, very soft, tear easily and fit perfectly in standard pouch dispensers. Spend extra money and help save our planet!
