MEASURE FIRST! Be sure to focus on the chest girth, otherwise it will be too small. Size XL was perfect for my 25lb little terrier both in length and chest. The XXXL fits snugly (just a little loosely) on my golden retriever who weighs about 52 pounds and fits perfectly on my golden retriever, a border collie mix who weighs 60 pounds. The difference in coat length between XXL and XXXL is almost 5 inches. XXL was not long enough for my golden retriever. They are well made for the price and cover most of the chest that most coats don't (but not the stomach). It fastens around the neck and around the chest with Velcro. Chest area (both sides) but I leave one side closed and just put her leg through that leg hole and then velcro the rest. It holds up pretty well even on my crazy terrier. There is a small loop at the end. the length of the coat that has to go around her cock to keep it properly on her back but I don't use it because they just poop on it :) It holds up well without using it. thick and seem waterproof as we got caught in a heavy downpour on our way home and all the dogs we have are still dry where the raincoat covered them.
