Does exactly what I need.
Bought for my Surface Pro 6 and works great. It can be used without the included power adapter when the disc is spinning at a slower speed, e.g. B. when playing a music CD in real time. However, the Surface Pro 6 does not provide enough power to run the drive when installing software from a CD. This is where the external power option comes in, otherwise the drive keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to the Surface Pro.
