Works with Surface Pro 3

Many external DVD drives will not work on Surface models, I suspect due to the low output voltage on the USB port this one will work and it has an extra drive power cord to increase strength. I can now download apps on Surface Pro 3

Not plug and play; "Customer service " useless

This product does not support Plug and Play as advertised. I've tried using it multiple times and each time it "skipped" indefinitely until I turned it off. I wrote to customer service (via email) and the response was quick but not helpful at all. I was asked to fill out a questionnaire, I was given instructions to follow to fix the problem and these instructions were confusing and after trying my best they still didn't work. Wouldn't buy it again, still can't use it, will probably throw itā€¦

It works! CD and DVD drives

While looking through old files I came across my stash of old document CDs. Since I no longer have a DVD/CD drive in my laptop, I decided to buy an external one to see if I can open them. The price was right, the reviews were good, and I bought it! It worked right away, I opened some Microsoft ME files - wow! - and I found some things that I had forgotten which I have now saved on this computer. GRATITUDE!

Works as advertised - Can play and display Words of Karaoke CD+G Karaoke CD

I needed a portable DVD/CD player/recorder that could play and display graphics (words) from Karaoke CD+G compact can - discs. See attached screenshot. Happy with the device so far; Plays on my laptop using only the USB cable that came with it.

Quickly fixes movie playback issues on Windows 10

Windows 10 doesn't support DVD playback so you just can't insert a movie and play it. A major hassle when you have a home movie library (although it can be a bit odd in Age of Revain and Netflix) and solved quickly and inexpensively with a Roofull Portage USB 3 external DVD drive. A true plug and play device , high quality construction, the English manual is a bit broken, but the hardware is perfect and fits my Lenovo Mini Tower nicely. [Remember that USB 3 ports have SS [usb mark]. And thatā€¦

Does exactly what I need.

Bought for my Surface Pro 6 and works great. It can be used without the included power adapter when the disc is spinning at a slower speed, e.g. B. when playing a music CD in real time. However, the Surface Pro 6 does not provide enough power to run the drive when installing software from a CD. This is where the external power option comes in, otherwise the drive keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to the Surface Pro.

Attractive and functional optical drive

A well-made device in a beautiful aluminum case. Although there is a convenient eject button on the front, the tray opens at the command of the computer's built-in optical drive software. Speaking of software, no additional software is required to operate this device. It is truly plug and play operation. Great drive especially for my Surface Pro 3

I decided to buy it after seeing all the good reviews. I originally planned to get this for my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10, which of course doesn't have a DVD/CD drive. But then my Dell Windows 7 laptop DVD/CD drive started behaving strangely and was not recognized by the system. So this purchase should be used with both computers. Very good optical drive

Having had an older Sony Vaio with an internal optional drive on a flasher for a few years, I sometimes need it but need to have one that has an extra power cable to another USB or 110 port volts has . And to my surprise it's a true USB 3 and the other end of the first power cable is eSata and not most that have mini USB. It's true USB 3.0 with added power management built in, this drive works great with just one cable! The disc's satin finish is excellent, as is the build qualityā€¦
