I use these in a retail store to protect laptop displays. It feels strong and the lock seems secure. The numbers have a positive click when rotated. Some combo cables reset too easily, resulting in an accidental reset to an unknown combination. This isn't difficult at all, but impossible without a small flathead screwdriver. Simply insert the screw, turn a quarter turn, install the new combination, and then back off the screw. The only problem I foresee is the T-end. Some slots on laptops, particularly the really thin "ultrabook" or "sleekbook" types, have very little room on the sides of the slot. This one may not fit some of them. However, the T isn't as wide as some I've seen, so this may not be an issue at all. I also have some Targus Defcon locks. You don't need as much space on the sides of the slot. Build quality is similar between them, if not slightly better, and the Targus costs about $10 more on average. I'm happy with it. edit: I've been using some of these for a while and still really like them. I've found the easiest way to lock them is to enter the code, then just insert them into the slot, press and twist. Make sure you're facing a direction where the numbers are easy to read, otherwise you'll have to turn your laptop or whatever over to enter the code. Also make sure it is centered in the slot and that both pins fit into the slot or are not blocked. While I wondered how well they would work on Sleek and Ultrabooks, they match everything I've tried. There is nothing more to worry about.
