Be careful using it to knock out the ball joints! You really have two "easy" choices when it comes to removing ball joints. This is one style and the other uses a lever to open the connection. The part is well made and very solid. I fit on my Honda's wishbone with no problems. It didn't damage the boot. I used a medium sized crescent wrench to turn it and the ball joint popped out with no problem. I thought I was doing great and saved myself $30 compared to Lever Poppers. I only noticed the problem when trying to reinstall the castle nut. I couldn't figure out why the threads weren't turning properly after the first 1/2 inch. Upon closer inspection, I realized why. The bolt on the underside of the ball joint deformed when pushed out. Apparently the hole in the bolt that the cotter pin goes in is weak enough that if you use it to push the ball joint out, it will fall apart and deform slightly. It's not even a rusty car. Axles I'm not sure if lever pops are less likely to do this, but now it cost me another $100 in parts and about 4 hours of extra work. I wasn't a happy camper. When I make the other side, I'll probably put a narrow piece of aluminum rod between that and my ball joint to avoid deforming the other.
