I do a lot of facilitation and coaching, all online (and have been for years). I have a desk and I often help and get away from the camera a bit. I've tried cameras with high autofocus and found them distracting. You'll often see the background blur slightly and then your face sharpen. It's like the rhythm of a heartbeat. I found this to be distracting, both as a moderator and as a participant. The last thing you need when contributing to something in person or virtually is a distraction that shouldn't be there. I prefer this camera because of the zoom function. I can zoom out and see more of me and my surroundings in the frame, or I can zoom in and zoom out. The quality is stable, no blurring at any magnification. The camera itself is also fully adjustable left/right, up/down and easily fits over my monitor. That's a little more than most cameras, but who cares? It's still easily portable when I need it. It also has built-in camera covers. I cannot guarantee the quality of the speaker as I have a separate device for it. Microphone audibility is decent, but again, I use my separate device for it so it doesn't get in the way.
