I tested the speed of the Kpan drive with my powerful I7 laptop and the USB drive worked as advertised and still achieved better read speeds and records over 130 MB/s. See attached test results. I also ran my local hard drive for comparison and the USB speeds beat the internal hard drive. The local disk is shown as a dotted line in the diagram. The red case is aluminum and feels solid and solid, but very slippery. I have a problem with the activity monitor. It is very important to see the Activity Monitor for troubleshooting and just general confidence in work. The light on the Kpan is so small and faint that you can only see it if you look directly at it. If you step to the side, the already dim light disappears completely. I'm deducting 1 star from the rating due to a lighting issue. It uses a standard USB connector, which compares well to other drives, and uses some incompatible connectors.
