I'm a car mechanic and I work with battery cables all the time. These cables really do appear to be 4 gauge. Don't be fooled by the insulation, the insulation is really thick This audio cable hardware but in general the cable is very flexible and it seems like a good deal at over $40. I use them to transfer 50 to 100 amperes from my alternator to my battery without any problems, I have no voltage drop on the cables I haven't tested them but they don't even get hot.
