Short and fat 'plug' - doesn't fit well with input jacks

The "female" end is for a direct cable-to-cable connection - it is too thick (diameter) and too short to fit in a waterproof box without modification (photo shows intended use after modification). I was able to shave it to fit due to lack of time. Otherwise I would return it to look elsewhere for my application. The price seems good and it seems reliable.
