Don't worry about this if you're using battery power. Consumes almost nothing. It can run for several days without any noticeable drop in voltage. If you store your bike for a long time, you still need to put it in a battery tender. The product looks cool too. The only annoying thing is that they could have built a latch into the mount for this.
