I installed it permanently. I can see my tension as I approach the bike.

Don't worry about this if you're using battery power. Consumes almost nothing. It can run for several days without any noticeable drop in voltage. If you store your bike for a long time, you still need to put it in a battery tender. The product looks cool too. The only annoying thing is that they could have built a latch into the mount for this.

Pay attention to the product you are buying without assuming it is in the picture.

I'm giving 3 stars now because we haven't used it yet. The picture was deceptive. It didn't include a cable going from my delicate plug to the handlebars to allow our phones to be charged in the handlebar bag. I need to find and order an extension before using it. My fault for not reading the product information carefully.

Two months later and still working

I've bought a lot of motorcycle chargers and they usually break within a few weeks. I suspect this market is so small that higher-end manufacturers don't focus on this market. It's usually best to buy a branded USB cigarette lighter charger and plug it directly into the battery. But I wanted something easily accessible, and it fit the bill perfectly.

Just got back from a motorcycle trip from Seattle to Sturgis and back. It was a great purchase. I was able to charge my phone and the steering wheel bluetooth remote control for my helmet at the same time. Leaving it plugged in will drain the battery somewhat, but not significantly if you unplug devices while stopping to refuel or eat. But I didn't risk it overnight. I bought a separate SAE cable because it didn't come with a sheath because it goes in the rain. The device itself sits squarely…
