Does not fit directly on Can Am Defender Limited

Overall the quality of materials and construction of this kit is very good. However, trying to install it on my 2020 Limited Max proved difficult. The instructions provided are somewhat generic and not fully representative of this machine. One of the most difficult aspects of the installation was trying to get through the firewall with the necessary cables. While there may be others who have a better solution, I took the path of least resistance and drilled a 1 1/4" hole through the plastic master cylinder cover and then installed the Daystar rubber boot. The attached picture shows two wiring harnesses running through the trunk. The smaller of the two is optional for the 14" Harbor Freight light bar I also installed. It seemed like it would require some serious disassembly to get the cables through the OEM firewall pass, and there wasn't much for that Place. The kit includes a turn signal in the OEM taillights. Routing the included wiring harness through the center tunnel is relatively easy. It is not that easy to route this wiring harness to the ECU. As you can see in the picture I have cuts in made of the bottom panel to stretch the wiring harness to the control box.I tried the stiff wire/fishing tape method to twist the harness but after many tries I got frustrated and went back to the path of least resistance.Regarding the control module - the two plastic braces on the top wall of the glove box with a span said to be 4.75 inches apart do NOT match the span of the holes in the Ste match. I attached the control unit to the front wall of the glove box. Glove box space, but I doubt it'll be used for anything other than a pair of blinds. There was another issue where the rearmost wire harness connecting the OEM taillights was supposed to connect directly to the OEM connector under the bed at the back of the cab. The kit connector and the OEM connector did not match. reported that they are aware of some incompatibility with some of the early kits. The rep was kind enough to say that he would see that I found the adapter plug, but SNAFU's shipping department delayed shipping this plug which I am still waiting for to this day. Another potential issue I noticed was the horn/alarm switch combo backlight - it stays on all the time (a definite low battery). Having used the Kit Switch Harness I didn't think this problem would exist now. The other kit that comes with the kit does not light up all the time. Again, I used the wire harness/connector from the kit for this switch. I have an email in XTC and am waiting for a reply on this matter. (Which wire on the switch connector powers the switch light?) I checked the horn and front turn signals that came with the kit and they work fine. I'm pretty sure the system should be fine when I install the taillight adapter plug. However, I am disappointed with the extra wiring I had to do. There are a few non-detachable OEM wires under the hood that MIGHT be good candidates for installing this system, but I didn't have a machine schematic and didn't do enough research to know the answer. I hope XTC finally gets their hands on the 2020 Can Am Limited and finds a better solution for future buyers of what I think is an essentially good product. Update: The long-awaited adapter plug arrived yesterday. While I'm not thrilled with the setup of my turn signal/horn system, I'm happy to report that everything is working. A remaining problem is that the horn/alarm switch light stays on all the time. I have an email exchange with XTC regarding this.
