Review on 🥄 Chef Craft Select Plastic Measuring Cup, 4 Cup, Clear - Accurate and Practical Kitchen Tool by Amy Washington

I bought this because it had clear easy to read markings and the height was just right for my old Sunbeam HotShot where my Tervis WIN T mug fits for direct filling of boiling water. Also, the reviews said it poured accurately and well (it does! Not a drip) to pour boiling water into my Melitta coffee dripper for one serving. It worked great for about 6 months when a small crack developed at the top which propagated further down and eventually leaked and then dripped boiling water. After 14 months, the leak became too large and worsening to be tolerated. I think it was the transparent/hard nature of the plastic that killed it; The rigidity made it relatively unable to endure a major accidental collision with, say, the edge of a sink, and combined with daily exposure to 1-3 SHORT refills of boiling water (which always flowed straight into my mug or coffee maker) plus a normal one Dishwasher just couldn't handle it. I have ordered a replacement from AMZ made from softer (albeit less crystal clear) plastic and am hoping for more durability and functionality.
