Not worth the $300 price tag

I wanted to like the keyboard but for the price it just isn't that functional. There's definitely something good about the keyboard case, but that doesn't make this case worth $300. Pros: 1) Stylish looks 2) Amazing trackpad/touchpad functionality 3) No Bluetooth pairing required, it automatically connects to your smart device. Connector 4) You can charge the iPad through the USB-C port on the case. Cons: 1) There are no function keys and keyboard shortcuts. 2) Viewing angles are limited. 2 positions only3) iPad cannot be used in tablet mode unless you remove the iPad from the keyboard/case, therefore the iPad is not protected when used alone4) even when the iPad is with the keyboard connected and not to the sides/edges of the iPad are exposed. The cover only covers the front and back.5) EXPENSIVE I have both the Magic keyboard and another keyboard cover that I ordered from Revain and I prefer the other keyboard cover because it is more functional and much cheaper (75 $). Added a photo for comparison. The only reason I gave the magic keyboard case 2 stars is because it is a well made Apple product. If this case was made by another company I would give it 1 star! I am so disappointed in Apple for this keyboard case. This is the only Apple product that has completely let me down (I have an iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook, Apple Pencil, Magic Mouse, AirPods and Applet TV). This product is not compatible with other Apple products.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
