Good but not great

I bought this tool to replace my old tool from the 60's that was starting to show signs of wear. I've found this MulWark tool to work for many common uses, but it doesn't work well for most of my uses. In particular, I was annoyed by the lack of a spring that makes using this tool easier and faster (obviously in the photo, but I missed it). In addition, the tool was very "tight" despite the lubricant applied; Black or graphite or molybdenum. It took a little "work" on the action of the tool to loosen the action, plus teflon grease. The tool still requires finger movement to open the jaws. During use, I noticed two undesirable performance issues: stripping 10 AWG solid copper wire left "kinks" on the wire; When cutting speaker wire with many strands, the tool left some of the strands uncut and the stripper cut through some of the strands.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • A bit torn
